Terms of Service

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SafeMeet. If you are under 18, we strongly recommend using SafeMeet with the knowledge and guidance of a parent or guardian. Sharing your age is optional and self-declared; if you declare that you are 18 or older, you certify that attestation is truthful. Providing a false birthday is grounds for immediate account termination.

3. Account

You may use SafeMeet as a guest (no sign-up required) or with a signed-in account via Google or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your session. Guest sessions are tied to a browser fingerprint and may be lost if you clear browser data.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Send threats, harassment, hate speech, or sexually explicit content.
• Share personal identifying information (addresses, phone numbers, financial details) of yourself or others.
• Solicit money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or off-platform transactions.
• Attempt to circumvent safety moderation, sanctions, or age attestation.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service.
• Exploit vulnerabilities or attempt unauthorized access to the platform.

5. Content Moderation

Every message is checked before delivery. An instant filter blocks a short, fixed list of phrases on the spot, and every message it lets through is reviewed by an AI moderation system. A message the system blocks is withheld whole rather than redacted: it is not delivered. A text message it flags as borderline is still delivered. Either way, the sender sees a safety notice. A block from our full AI review can also record a warning on the sender's account, though not every one does: none is recorded when our text model is not confident enough to count it against the sender, when our own systems failed, or for a message about the sender's own crisis. A message stopped by our instant filter, which checks each message as it is sent, never records one. Enough reports from different people against the same user, each within 24 hours of the one before it, trigger an automatic, time-bound ban. You may appeal sanctions through the in-app appeal process.

6. Bot Conversations

When no human match is available, you may be matched with an AI chat partner. Bot conversations are always disclosed: each message from the AI is labeled “SafeMeet AI”, and a live AI chat's header reads “Chatting with SafeMeet AI”. Bot messages are generated by a third-party AI service and do not represent SafeMeet's views.

7. Privacy

Your use of SafeMeet is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Your birthday is private — it is never shown to chat partners. If you are 18 or older, people you chat with see your age in years (worked out from your birthday) on your profile card.

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the profile menu. Deletion is permanent and irrecoverable — your messages, profile, session data, and moderation records are purged. Minimal safety event records (for example, panic-button events and abuse-pattern signals) may persist after deletion; once your account is deleted they are no longer connected to any profile or identity. While your account is under a ban, you can't delete it; once the ban ends, you can.

9. Limitation of Liability

SafeMeet is provided “as is” without warranty. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users or AI chat partners. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to use the service (currently $0 for a free service).

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these terms, safety concerns, or any other reason at our discretion.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
